Special Note: Since this is a Mod the over-fastening of atomizers, cartomizers, tanks, etc may cause damage to the center post of the device. This could cause damage to the device and may cause a short. This will cause the battery to discharge and may potentially cause the battery to vent. The device does have Vent Holes in case this happens. We do recommend properly storing the batteries when the device is not in use.

Mod Caution Notes:
- Never store a mod in your pocket, purse or anywhere else that may allow the Mod to activate.
- This mod does have built in protection but if mishandled, or damaged could cause the circuit to fail.
- Never submerge the device or battery under water, or expose to excess moisture.
- Avoid over tightening atomizers, cartomizers, RBA's, and Tanks on to the threading of the device. Finger tip tight is good enough and does not need to be cranked down all the way until it doesn't move.
- Over tightening of the battery cap or head of the unit may cause the unit to continuously fire unintentionally and could damage the battery or internal components.
- Use caution when storing Mods, we do recommend removing the battery and storing the battery in a Battery Case
- When using RBA's on these devices, make sure that your RBA is properly built without shorts and that the battery you are using is able to handle the resistance. We do not recommend using atomizers on this device below 1.5ohms.
- When using Rebuildable Atomizers (RBA) make sure that you use a OHM tester to verify that there isn't a short before using.

Other Battery Caution Notes:
- Do not over-discharge/overcharge
- Recharge empty batteries (resting voltage ~3.6V) as soon as possible. Leaving batteries in discharged state will incur irreversible damage (capacity / cycle loss)
- Do not short circuit ( will release tremendous current )
- Do not dispose of in fire.
- Do not leave battery in Vehicles.
- Do not carry batteries loose in your pocket, purse or anywhere they can make contact with other metal objects.
- Never leave a battery charging unattended.
- Discontinue use of a battery if it looks worn, outter wrapping is torn, or it's acting unusual.

NOTE: Use special caution when working with Li-ion or Li-MN cells, they are very sensitive to charging characteristics and may explode or burn if mishandled. Make sure the user has enough knowledge of Li-Ion rechargeable batteries in charging, discharging and assembly before use. Always charge in/on a fire-proof surface. Never leave charging batteries unattended. We are not responsible for damage if there is any modification of the batteries/chargers in any form or shape (including pack making). We are not responsible for any damage caused by misuse or mishandling of batteries and chargers. We only recommend using Lithium Ion rechargeable batteries with a control circuit (protection PCB) to assure safe charge, discharge, etc, use of lithium ion batteries without a protection circuit is potentially hazardous

AltSmoke LLC. will not be held responsible or liable for any injury, damage, or defect, permanent or temporary that may be caused by the improper use of an Li-MN or LI-ION battery. Please have a basic understanding of the batteries you are using and how to care for them properly.

Customer Reviews

I would buy it again if needed. Review by Mark E
Overall
I'm at almost 61,000 puffs on mine now and it still works fine.
Pros:
-It can use high capacity batteries like the Sony NCR 18650B 3400 mah. Being honest, the battery that comes with evic is really good.

-The drip cover holds a LOT of liquid without soaking the user. I've had 1ml clearomizers mostly empty themselves into the drip cover and there was never a drop spilled. Very nice feature.

-Battery indicator is hard to live without once you get used to having one.

-Adjustable voltage obviously rocks. After much testing, I started leaving mine at 4.4 volts most of the time.

-Charge batteries with a dedicated charger OR the USB port. This has saved me several times when I've forgotten to charge at night, since my car or my PC at work can do the job in a pinch.

-Configurable auto-sleep. I set mine for 12 minutes so I won't get accidental button presses while traveling.

-Battery cap has a pressure release hole so the device won't explode if the battery ignites.

cons:
-The software is really just a gimmick. I did upgrade my firmware when I first got the device (for the new menu options), but otherwise I don't have any use for that.

-The threads on the battery cap feel like they could be easily stripped, best to be careful when changing battery.

-I've checked around and the part with the screen costs about $80 to replace, so it's best to be careful with that. (Posted on 1/10/2014)
not perfect Review by wada
Overall
eVic is great but the thing shuts off all the time for no reason. (Posted on 10/30/2013)
LOVE IT!!! Review by LILCHOI
I started with the starter kit, went to a spinners to be adjust. This ones the bomb. I havent dropped it, which is pretty impressive. Im clumsy. It feels ver strong. I love yhe long battery life. It turns off automatically. Worth every penny. Still cheaper than a carton in Hawaii. Had no problems at all. Worked petfect from the start. Excellent product. (Posted on 5/29/2013)
first mod, and first order from AltSmoke Review by Jason
This is my first mod, so I don't have much to compare this to besides a eGo Twist and a Vision Spinner. But I'm really digging the way this thing works. With the updated firmware, the automatic voltage adjustment (when in variable wattage mode) that is calculated based on your atomizer's resistance works great. You'll have to tweak it yourself a little, based on personal preference and the nature of whatever e-liquid you're using, but the eVic does a great job of getting you started. (Posted on 3/13/2013)
eVic is amazing Review by stujsimpson
Awesome. Works well with my clearomizer. I read some other reviews and I was worried I might get a burnt taste with the evic. But after adjusting the vv,vw the clearomizer is great and actually burns less and leaves my liquid cleaner than my ego passthrough. I would recommend this to most users that are willing take a few minutes to set it up properly. (Posted on 2/17/2013)
Love it! Review by Packin
I'll be the first to admit, I'm by no means an expert or pro in the vaping field. My girlfriend and I just starting vaping 3 1/2 months now, starting off with the basic ego-c twist starter kit. Amazed at how quickly I took to vaping, I started reading, researching, and learning all kinds of new vaping stuff (the gadget/tech geek in me). When I decided to upgrade to an APV, I ticked off my girlfriend by spending an entire day reading up on and comparing 5 different APVs. Very quickly it was down to the Vamo and the eVic. In the end (obviously), the eVic won out because I really liked the features and for me it's worth spending a little extra to get exactly what I want over settling. I've had the eVic for almost a month now, purchased here, and I have absolutely no complaints. I don't need an APV to go higher than 5V, nor do I want something "badass enough to handle my 20ml quad-coil tank". I absolutely love my eVic, enough so that I am considering getting a second as a backup emergency in case of an "OMG! My dog just dropped my eVic in the toilet, whatever will I vape with???" situation.

It may not be the APV for everyone, but it certainly is for this vaper. (Posted on 2/7/2013)
Awesome features, but saddening flaws. Review by Judah
I purchased my eVic the day it came out. I got it and opened it up, put on my LR atties and went to town. Great vapor production, satisfying throat hit and a very sleek design. Coming from a Silver Bullet or Omega you will instantly notice the quality of the device is not up to par. It's made of a cheapish stainless steel type metal rather than the heavy, sturdy metal of the SB and Omegas.

After using my eVic for about a week the screen didn't light up as bright as it use to, it flickered sometimes from dark to bright - I didn't think much about it and continued using it. Nearly two weeks later it began overheating constantly, burning through my liquid in 3-5 hits. I contacted AltSmoke and they shipped me a new one. However, in the meantime while I was waiting for my new one I continued to use my old eVic. Suddenly, one day mid vape it shuts off and won't turn back on. I fully charge the battery with my 18650 charger (not via USB cable included), put the battery back in, still won't turn on. It doesn't even say "Low Battery" like it normally does when it dies. It just died and I couldn't ever get it to work again.

I have my new eVic now and it's working perfectly, let's hope it was just a day one flaw and they worked out the bugs with the newer models.

Final conclusion: If you want awesome perks and like showing off cool features to friends - get the eVic. However, if you want a sturdy device that can take some punishment and is super reliable - get a Silver Bullet or Omega.

Pros:
Sleek and beautiful design.

Great vapor production.

Many (maybe even too many) awesome features.

Variable voltage/wattage.

The ability to use tons of different atties makes it super flexible with how you want to vape.

This device has best over drip area I've ever seen, I've never had any liquid leak out and get on my hands before.

In v1.2 they now have Vapor Trains which are really sweet. (Vapor Trains are where you set it to start at 3.3v then go up to 4.7v at 2.0 seconds then back down to 3.6v at 3.5 seconds while you're vaping)

Constant firmware updates so you'll always be getting bug fixes/new features which is very nice.

You will constantly impress other vapers and your friends with this mod.

Cons:
Not as well built as other mods.

You could be unlucky and get a broken device (like I did).

It shuts off mid use sometimes. (Hopefully they fixed this is v1.2 or will in future updates)

The menus can be a hassle to go through. (Which they worked on in v.1.2 but it's still a bit of a hassle and probably always will be)

The threads are not designed well and seem like they would strip easily if you're not too careful.

If you knock it over by accident (like when it's sitting on a table and you hit it with your arm and it falls over) the device will shut completely off. Pretty much anything abrupt will shut this thing off.

When your battery gets low it WILL NOT let you use it anymore. On Silver Bullets or Omegas there is no cut off, you can use it as long as you want.

Device is good, but has some flaws Review by Chad
I have had the Evic a little over a week, and I like it a lot. My former goto was an ego, and this is kind of an obvious step. No, it's not a super high quality hand made, or small batch made device. The selector switch has a LOT of play in it, and the finish is not as good as others I have seen. A lot of the extra tracking "features" are kind of silly. It is like someone put a microchip on an ecig, and then tried out what to use it for after the fact.

That said, it has a lot going for it. The price is reasonable once you consider you are getting a battery and a charger with it, and it is a VV/VW device. I know there are some upset that it's power can't go past 11 watts. I find that using an ego clearomizer, things start tasting burned before I get near that. The ego clearomizers fit on this thing and work very well in my opinion. The ego threading comes in handy for myself personally. This is my first 18650 mod, and the abillity to go all day and then some is nice.

In a nutshell, don't buy it for the software and the tracking stuff. Buy it because it is a reasonably priced variable volt, variable wattage device that lets you use ego equipment.

I can see that tracking your puffs may help you toward your goal of removing nicotine from your life all together, but that isn't my personal goal at this point.

Don't dismiss it as a great option, but don't consider it the best thing since sliced bread either. (Posted on 1/10/2013)
Great product Review by Mr postman
This product is everything that it claimed to be. I really look forward to upgrades to the device that we will receive via firmware. Best part about this PV is the battery indicator. It's really nice knowing exactly how much battery is left on the device (Posted on 1/8/2013)
dankness Review by kdubs
my buddy has one of these and im extremely jealous i do not have an extra 100 bucks to put down for one of these guys. they hit beyond anything i have ever had before, and with the ability to change the voltage it can go from soft to mellow to harsh. the lcd is a major help and it truly is the best e cigg i have ever tried, and will be purchasing asap! Over Hyped!! Review by Michael J.
After browsing the blogs and doing some research I was excited for the release of this new Variable Volt E-Cig. Especially considering that AltSmoke, the only place I purchase my electronic cigarettes and accessories from was going to carry it.

I signed up for email notification on when it would be available for sale and upon receiving that from Rob, owner of AltSmoke, I immediately placed my order. To make a long story short. The new Joyetech eVic Variable Volt PV has a lot of "bells and whistles". Could tell after removing from the box that the quality and craftsmanship that I have come to know and love with my Silver Bullet was just not there with this product. I have since requested an RMA so that it can be returned.

At the end of the day it sounds cool to be able to track and manage your vaping habits, but for a true enthusiast, I now realize it is a waste of time. If you want something that is solid, built to last, and has the ability to be customized specifically to your vaping habits than I would say that the Silver Bullet is your answer. I personally believe that it is only a matter of time before this solid device becomes a household staple. (Posted on 12/31/2012)
