1. What is vaping?

Vaping is the act of using an electronic cigarette that vaporizes a solution to create an experience similar to smoking. The three components that make up an electronic cigarette (or “vape”) are the atomizer, the cartridge, and the battery. The cartridge is filled with the solution (commonly referred to as vape juice or e-liquid), which is then heated by the atomizer, creating vapor.

2. What is in vape juice?

The solution is made up of four basic ingredients. The main ingredient is Propylene Glycol which is considered to be safe by the FDA as a food additive. The second ingredient is actually water. The third ingredient is a combination of flavorings that give the vapor a flavor. The final ingredient is Nicotine. NOTE: Nicotine is extremely addictive and with all these devices are intended for adults of legal smoking age who are presently smoking. It is important that you treat the liquid with extreme care and also to keep it in a place that is out of reach of children and pets.

3. How much do vapes cost?

It depends on what you’re looking for. Starter vape kits typically range from $30-$60, but setups can get more expensive depending on your desired level of customization. Your best bet is to visit one of our stores and have one of our staff members guide you through the purchase process to find the best setup.

4. How much nicotine is in vape juice?

Nicotine levels vary based on the e-liquid you’re using. Most current smokers switching to vapor start at 18mg, which is the same nicotine dosage as a traditional cigarette. Levels can range from 0mg-50mg based on your preferences.

5. How long does vape juice last?

For an average vape user at their preferred nicotine level, a 30ml bottle of e-juice could last about a week, and a 60ml bottle can last 2-3 weeks. Vape juice can expire after a certain point. If you notice a change of color, thickness, or smell, it’s probably time to buy another bottle.

6. Can you take a vape on a plane?

The FAA does not allow vaping devices in checked bags. However, you are allowed to carry these items onboard in a carry-on.

7. Why does my vape taste burnt?

Vapes may taste burnt if your atomizer coil has dried out and burned up while being heated. A burnt taste means it’s time to replace the coil. Heavy vape users may go through coils in a week, whereas some vapers may go a month without a new coil. Take short breaks in between puffs to keep your coils from burning out too quickly.

8. How old do you have to be to vape?

The legal age for using vape products differs by state. Look up the regulation for your specific state - it’s likely either 18+ or 21+.

9. Can vapes help me quit smoking?

The short answer is vapor products are not advertised/marketed as a smoking cessation device. There have not been any studies done on the success/failure rate of those who choose to try and quit smoking via personal vaporizers. Vape products are only being marketed as a traditional tobacco cigarette alternative. Some vape users have reported having no desire to smoke traditional tobacco cigarettes after they had adapted to vaping.
